Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 cups Brussels sprouts, halved
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat to prepare for sautéing the aromatics.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing them until they become translucent and fragrant, which usually takes about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook it, breaking it apart, until it is fully browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in the halved Brussels sprouts along with salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes, mixing everything well for even seasoning.
- Pour in 1/4 cup of chicken broth, cover the skillet with a lid, and let it cook for 5-7 minutes until the Brussels sprouts are tender, steaming them gently.
- Remove the lid, stir in the lemon juice to add brightness and a fresh flavor before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be served on its own or with rice for a more filling meal.
- Adjust the level of red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
