Description

A delicious cheesy beef casserole topped with crispy French fries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 can (10 oz) condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (16 oz) frozen French fries

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prep: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the beef and onions: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Create the burger base: Stir in the cheddar cheese soup, ketchup, and mustard directly into the skillet with the cooked beef. Mix until everything is well combined and warmed through. It should look creamy and smell like your favorite fast food burger joint.
  4. Assemble the casserole: Pour the beef mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  5. Add the fries: Arrange the frozen French fries in a single layer over the cheese. You can use classic straight-cut fries, crinkle-cut, or even waffle fries for a fun twist.
  6. Bake: Pop the dish in the oven and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Serve it hot: Let it cool just a bit before serving—it will be molten cheesy deliciousness right out of the oven. Pair it with a side salad or some crunchy pickles to round it out.
