Description

Delicious brownies made with ripe bananas and cocoa for a chocolatey treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup peanut butter (divided, 3/4 cup in brownies and 1/4 cup for top of brownies)
  • ½ to 1 cup dark chocolate chunks or chips
  • 3 tablespoons agave syrup or maple syrup (optional if you want brownies sweeter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. Line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal, then spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mash up the 4 large ripe bananas.
  3. Add the 6 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and ¾ cup of peanut butter to the mashed bananas. If desired, add the 3 tablespoons of agave syrup/maple syrup and mix until combined. Stir in the chocolate chunks or chips if desired.
  4. Transfer the brownie mixture to the prepared baking pan.
  5. Melt the ¼ cup of peanut butter in the microwave for 20 seconds until drippy, pour on top of the brownies, and swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake brownies for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool, then slice into bars. Enjoy!

Notes

  • These brownies have an extra chocolatey flavor from the dark chocolate chunks or chips.
