Description

A delicious cake made with fresh cherries and sour cream.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. Wash and pit the cherries; slice them in half if desired.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  4. In a large bowl, beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture until just mixed. Gently fold in cherries.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before serving.
